"... just as conscious contents can vanish into the unconscious, new contents, which have never yet been conscious, can _arise_ from it. One may have an inkling, for instance, that something is on the point of breaking into consciousness – that "something is in the air", or that one "smells a rat". The discovery that the unconscious is no mere depository of the past, but is also full of germs of future psychic situations and ideas, led me to my own new aproach to psychology. A great deal of controversial discussion has arisen around this point.
...in addiction to memories from a long-distant conscious past, completeley new thoughts and creative ideas can also present themselves from the unconscious – thoughts and ideas that have never been conscious before.
They grow up from the dark depths of the mind like a lotus and form a most important part of the subliminal psyche.
The 19th - century German chemist Kekulé, researching in to the molecular structure of benzene, dreamed of a snake with its tail in it's mouth. (This is and age-old symbo)l. He interpreted the dream to mean that the structure was a closed carbon ring.
Everything comes from the client during a session, the guide is only there to make the environment right, and to navigate the space for thesubconscious to make contact with the drawer, based upon their known intention. for the subconscious to reveal itself to the drawer.
"...A dream can not produce a definite thought (as it is the subconscious). If it begins to do so, it ceases to be a dream because it crosses the threshhold of consciousness". – Pg. 64 C. Jung Man and his Symbols.
"I recall a woman who was once admitted to the clinic in a state of complete stupor . When she recovered consciousness next day, she knew who she was but not where she was, how or why she had come there, or even the date. Yet after I had hypnotised her, she told me why she had fallen ill, how she got to the clinic and who had admitted her. All these details could be verified. She was even able to tell the time in which she had been admitted because she had seen a clock int he entrance hall. Under hypnosis, her memory was as clear as if she had been completely conscious the whole time. – pg 33 Man and his Symbols by C. Jung.
The subconscious that speaks with images and emotions, meaning being the bridge between the subconscious and the conscious mind. The subconscious acts faster than the logical, conscious mind, that's why when in a session and asked a question and it's answered in a visual/ emotional way, the answers will be coming from your subconscious, you won't even have time to 'make anything up' trust me, I've tried. It's like trying to outrun the speed of light. Even if it takes a little while for the visual answer to come though to you in session, it'll show up and will be the right answer – you'll feel it.
"...The subconscious consists of a multitude of temporarily obscured thoughts, impressions, and images that, in spite of being lost, continue to influence our conscious minds". – C. Jung.
While the conscious mind makes deliberate choices, the subconscious provides the underlying motivations, biases, and instincts that guide those choices.
The subconscious communicates through symbols, dreams, and writing, often revealing insights during moments of reflection, meditation, or creativity.
The subconscious is the higher mind, the wisdom of the body. The stored emotions in the body and the wisdom to heal them,
The session is about creating a literal visual inner landscape of one's emotions, this creates unique meaning to each client, no two landscapes are the same. And no two sessions with the same clients have ever been exactly the same.
Jung's philosophy of life: Man becomes whole, integrated, calm fetile, and happy when (and only when) the process of individualisation in complete, when the conscious and unconscious have learned to live at peace and to compliment one another. - Man and his Symbols, Carl Jung.
No. Just as in dream interpretation, the meaning can be discussed yet ultimately will be known deepest to the drawer. The process of making art after being asked to draw certain symbols creates an emotional connection with the drawer and the page, there's an unspoken meaningful communication going on that while can be communicated to some degree, will be private only to the drawer. Just like it's impossible to interpret someone else's dream, the guide can not interpret, only listen to t
Participating in something like the ROC Technique gives the subconscious space to relay a message to the drawer's conscious mind. Similar to reading.
